- 5 nights of parties
- 9 years strong

San Diego Film Festival is redefining the film-going experience with a new take on how you watch films. We are a buzz-building, posh partying, red-carpet ready film festival. American’s Finest City is our location. Our executive producers are our generous sponsors and donors, and the hundreds of volunteers you’ve come to know and love. Our crew is made up of over 300 filmmakers and actors that are gracious enough to give us the opportunity to premiere their film. And you (the film lover) is the top-billed member of our cast and our crew’s greatest asset.
To us, films are more than just movies. Hopelessly devoted to the inspiration and talent behind each film, SDFF turns every screening into a red-carpet, media-frenzied premiere (followed by an amazing after-party.) You will meet the filmmakers, mingle with the actors, and then you will be a part of a special little thing we call EXP to make your film-going experience even more memorable.
We love our filmmakers and our film lovers. In case you couldn't tell, we heart film.
Follow us on Facebook for special deals on passes and festival updates. Passes go on sale Aug 1st.

Film CAN
Films CAN nurture our ability to empathize with human struggles which take place far beyond our own everyday experience of reality. They inform us, they enlighten us and they educate us, providing a vivid reflection of the rich cultural, ethnic and social diversity of this region and the world beyond our doors.
In 2010, SDFF is proud to partner with the local non-profit PLANT WITH PURPOSE, for they too are opening our eyes to the challenges and the success happening in the world which are outside of our realities.
For Plant With Purpose, the breakthrough came when they saw first-hand the connection between poverty and the environment. Many people think of poverty and the environment as separate issues, but in fact they are hugely interdependent. Most of the world’s poor are rural poor. Many are subsistence farmers, completely dependent on their environment for survival. But as a result of widespread deforestation, the land isn’t providing like it used to.
Land that once bore bountiful crops that could be sold or eaten, isn't producing. Streams that used to provide water to drink, now run dry. Out of desperation, the poor cut down more trees to sell as firewood, even though doing so means further destroying their one chance of survival.
By reversing deforestation, Plant With Purpose helps the poor restore productivity to their land to create economic opportunity out of environmental restoration. Since 1984 we have helped more than 100,000 people in some 230 villages lift themselves out of poverty through our holistic approach to sustainable development.
We invite you to join us, and Plant With Purpose. Stop by, say hi and meet the Plant With Purpose team in the Gaslamp Theater lobby throughout the Festival.
